Optimystic

Optimism is a generally good attitude. But it does have its limits. To be optimistic does not mean to be blind and unwilling to reason. Because in that case, even of your optimism wins, it will only be serendipitous. I don’t agree with such mystic optimism.

To be optimistic does not mean to be blind and unwilling to reason.

Let’s say you are a racer and are in a race. Your tire goes flat. You can’t say, “I am optimistic. I will go on and win”. You will lose, or even if you succeed, it will still be serendipitous and not because of your optimism. What you should rather do is to take your car to the pit stop, get your tires changed and then resume the race. You will now have a better chance of winning. I have seen too many stupid optimists that I almost abhor talks about optimism.

I have seen too many stupid optimists that I almost abhor talks about optimism…Because, luck never lasts forever.

Of course, it is not right to be hopeless and in denial. But that does not mean we can be stupid. This is my reply to those stupid optimists, “I would rather be a calculating pessimist with eyes and ears open than be a stupid optimist with eyes and ears closed. Because, luck never lasts forever.”
